Course Pedagogy

At SKIPS University, We follow best practice for academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

SEMINARS

We regularly conduct seminars on various subjects delivered by industry experts to provide industry insights, updates on the latest business trends, and other creative ideas. Apart from intellectual development, these seminars enhance corporate skills and provide networking opportunities to students.

COLLOQUIUM

Our students conduct research on current issues to identify and solve relevant industry problems. These research projects are presented to the University Panel and students explain and justify their research outcomes in question-answer sessions. Colloquiums are opportunities for in-depth contemplation of current issues.

CASE STUDY METHODS

Case studies are real-life stories about the dealings of businesses, corporate houses, and industry leaders. We discuss selected Case studies from Harvard Business Reviews and Mckinsey articles that detail how the entity whose case study is undertaken dealt with a particular business situation.

ROLE - PLAY

Engaging students in real-world scenarios via role plays help to develop their communication skills, social skills, soft skills, negotiation skills, listening skills, critical thinking skills, persuasive skills, empathy and many more. It instils confidence and provides experience in handling multiple types of situations.

GROUP PROJECTS

Students in the group do field work (survey) and work on a project as a team. The collaborative project is based on current business issues and these structured projects are designed to develop team skills, leadership skills, analytical skills, and open-mindedness towards diverse perspectives in students.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING & SIMULATED EXERCISES

Internships, live projects, industrial visits etc. are examples of experiential learning where students learn and gain hands-on skills from real-life scenarios and actual corporate settings. Simulated exercises are used to teach concepts in a safe and controlled environment (e.g. stock market simulation).

INTERNSHIPS

Internships form a crucial element of our educational programs, offering students the chance to immerse themselves in actual corporate settings. Internships provide them with hands-on experience, enable the acquisition of skills pertinent to their industry, and expose them to corporate culture. These internships further serve as platforms for establishing professional connections and networking.

MOVIE CLUBS

Our movie club provides an unconventional but highly effective learning platform. We screen movies and documentaries that tackle crucial business trends, socio-economic issues, and biopics of industry leaders. The in-between and post-screening discussions stimulate critical thinking, foster problem-solving skills, and enhance the understanding of various subjects in a unique way.

GROUP DISCUSSIONS

Group discussions are a regular feature of our pedagogical approach. These sessions focus on current affairs, business trends, ethical dilemmas, case studies, and more. Group discussions encourage students to express their views, promote active listening, improve communication skills, and foster a spirit of teamwork.

LIVE PROJECTS

Live projects are practical assignments where students work on real-time corporate issues. These projects provide an opportunity to apply classroom teachings to solve real-world problems. Live projects enhance problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and decision-making capabilities, preparing students for future professional challenges.

FLIP CLASSROOMS

Flip classrooms are an innovative teaching strategy where traditional teaching methods are reversed. Students are given study material in advance and the classroom session is used for discussions, problem-solving, and interactive learning activities. This method encourages self-learning, improves knowledge retention, and enhances the overall learning experience.

WORKSHOPS

We regularly organize workshops conducted by industry professionals. These workshops cover a range of subjects like marketing, personality development, business start-ups, market patterns, and so on. They offer real-world training and significant insights and knowledge into specific industries. Workshops serve as a superior platform for learners to acquire knowledge, establish connections, and explore possible career trajectories.
